Course Objectives

This 40-hour training will include:

  • Anatomy & Physiology of pregnancy, childbirth & postnatal periods. 

  • 25 yoga asana for pregnancy, 4th trimester & the postpartum period, plus useful modifications.

  • Restorative Yoga: benefits of restorative yoga for nervous system and physical support during natal periods including 10 postures, plus useful modifications. 

  • Self Massage: tools for therapeutic use and tension relief in classes and private lessons.

  • Pranayama: Learn how to incorporate breath/energy practices into natal classes and plans.

  • Meditation: Learn how to support mental preparedness for pregnancy, birth and the postpartum journey into parenthood.

  • Teaching Skills: Build sensory competency through compassionate awareness, communication and yogic philosophy.

  • How to confidently provide modifications for pregnant students in your regular classes.

  • How to effectively plan and sequence a class: Prenatal and Parent & Baby.

  • How to build a yoga-based care plan for those in the 4th trimester and Postpartum.

  • Teaching practicum: Opportunity to teach or assist 2 public classes (Prenatal/Parent & Baby) at Octopus Garden with faculty support and feedback.

 

Tuition

$1,200+HST

Deposit: $250 (+HST) due immediately to book your space. The deposit is non-refundable. Balance due before the start of the program.

Tuition includes:

  • Unlimited yoga classes for the duration of the program.

  • Octopus Garden Complete Natal Teacher Training manual.

  • Two opportunities to teach/assist in a public natal class.

  • Access to private social Teacher Training Community Network throughout the training and beyond.

  • Certification: Yoga Alliance continuing education credits.
